Paopao does not share, sell or disclose any information with any 3rd party, for any purpose whatsoever.
Paopao does not analyze, mine or monetize your data - this is actually the very reason for creating Paopao: to have a social network that enforces your privacy.
Paopao however must comply with the laws of the countries where it may be used. As such, if a governement sends us a legal request to access user content, we will comply within the limits of the law where the content has been published.
Paopao collects the following data:
▹ Your email address. This is mandatory to receive registration emails and pin codes to reset your password.
▹ Your encrypted password. This is mandatory to log into the application.
▹ Your first name and last name. It is not required that you provide your real first name and last name - however, if people search you on Paopao, it will be difficult for them to find you if you use a fake name.
▹ The code of the country from where you post content. This is why Paopao asks for Location service rights. Only the ISO code of the country is stored (like FR for France as an example). Your actual location coordinates are not stored or even sent to Paopao. The country code is used by Paopao to determine on which server your data should be stored, and which laws apply to your content, in case your post is reported by a member.
Paopao stores the following data:
▹ Your posts, the text and the medias associated to your posts. They are stored on Paopao servers so that you keep your history even if you change your device or you reinstall the app. Posts are kept by Paopao with no time limit, unless you decide to delete them.
▹ Your chat messages and medias (temporary storage). It is technically required that your messages and medias (photos, videos and such)
go through the Paopao servers before they reach their destination. In the best case, they will briefly transition
in the server memory for less than one second. If the destination device is not connected, the messages will be stored
on the server until the destination reconnects and pull the message - upon which we delete all the server content.
If a destination never reconnects, the temporary storage on the server will automatically be cleaned after a
period of 30 days.
Ultimately, all messages and medias exchanged via the Paopao chat are stored on the users devices, not by Paopao.
As a consequence, if you uninstall the app, you will also lose the history of your chats.
Data retention policy
▹ For posts and associated medias : no time limit (controlled by the user). You can delete a post, in which case all associated medias will also be deleted and unshared with other members.
▹ For chat messages : less than 1 second if the destination is connected, up to 30 days if one of the destinations does not connect to pull the message.
▹ For your Paopao account : no time limit (controlled by the user). If you wish to delete completely your account and all associated medias on all servers, for now please send a request to pascal.ognibene@agileandmore.com. We are still developing the functionnality to delete an account from within the application itself.
